When Chris purchased this 78 acre farm, he set out to create habitat for
game birds and a great to place to run his Brittanys. Plus keep
the farm productive for the neighbor farmer, Dwight. Many thanks went to all
his friends from the local NAVDHA Chapters when it came time to plant 1100
trees and shrubs throughout the property.
As you can see in the pictures of the farm, the hedgerows are
finally established. The past two years, 500 Christmas trees were also
planted. The hedgerows have provided a haven for the rabbits, many varieties
of songbirds, and an occasional chukar and quail leftover from training
days. I know all of our kids (the dogs) are loving it! We even seem to have
provided a hiding spot for a lonely cockbird pheasant, who has been here for
the last 2 years. The kids do manage to flush him every now and then.
